About - VTC2019-Spring

The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) hosts several conferences each year so that scientists, engineers, students, technicians, and others who are interested in advancing research and technology in vehicular technology and mobile networks may exchange ideas and research, in a enjoyable and breath-taking atmosphere.

VTS first started its own conference, the flagship Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC), in 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, USA as strictly a vehicular conference. But as technology advanced, so did VTC and other Society efforts resulting in the strong focus on the wireless aspect of all things vehicular. In 1999 the Society made a bold move to offer VTC twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. But in 2013 the Society established a second flagship conference by acquiring control of the Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC).

Our Society has grown into an international presence supporting many diverse events across the world, positively influencing development of technology, economies of scale, standards, and security as well as promoting stewardship of information, physical resources and the planet. Thus, participating at VTS international events is a productive mechanism for influencing positive change throughout our communities.  Membership is not required to attend our conferences.

If you are interested in hosting one of the VTS conferences in your area, please contact one of the conference administrators listed below for information and instructions for submitting a proposal.  Thank you.
