W9: Real-time data processing in Industrial and IoT Applications

Abstract: This workshop aims to bring together practitioners and researchers with a specific focus on the emerging trends and industry needs associated with real-time data processing and applications for IoT. Both theoretical and experimental submissions are encouraged. Papers should elaborate real-time data processing and applications for IoT, issues associated with data preparation, visualization, analytics, privacy issues, and new applications.

 

  Bio: Abdellah Chehri is a professor and researcher at the University of Quebec- UQAC, Canada. He received his Ph.D. in 2009 from Laval University, Quebec, Canada. He joined the University of Ottawa in July 2009 as a post-doc fellow/ research associate and member of Wireless Heterogeneous Sensor Networks in the e-Society WiSense project. From 2012 to 2014, he was with BLiNQ Networks in Kanata, where he was involved in the development and testing of dual-carrier NLOS TDD backhaul for small-cell 4G/LTE mobile applications. He worked as an adjunct assistant professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Ottawa and as a Manager of Next-Generation Network (NGN) /VoIP & Emerging Technologies at Bell Canada where he was involved on Bell Smart Cities Prototype including LTE/Cellular Footprint expansion, IMS, Public Safety and growing IoT portfolio. Dr. Chehri received many prestigious awards, including, Dean’s Scholarship Award, Postdoctoral Studies (University Ottawa), Scholarship Fund to Support Success (Laval University), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, MITACS, NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship. Dr. Chehri served as the program chair and workshops chair of the 2014 IEEE International Humanitarian Technology Conference (IEEE IHTC 2014). He served as guest editor and severed as a technical reviewer for several international conferences and journals (IEEE, Elsevier, Springer). Additionally, he is a Senior Member of IEEE Communications Society, IEEE-Ottawa Section, Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ) and IEEE Canadian Humanitarian Initiatives Committee (HIC).

 

Bio: Dr. G. Jeon received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Hanyang University, Korea, in 2003, 2005, and 2008, respectively. From 2009 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and from 2011 to 2012, he was an assistant professor at Niigata University, Japan. He is a professor at Xidian University, China and Incheon National University, South Korea. His research interests fall under the umbrella of image processing, deep learning, artificial intelligence, smart grid, and Industry 4.0.

 

Bio: Dr. A. Awais received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Kyungpook National University, Korea, in Feb 2017. He is currently a Senior Researcher at the Department of Computer Science, UNIMI, Milan, Italy. Previously, he was Assistant Professor at Yeungnam University, Korea. His current research work is on demosaicing and denoising, ML, DL, AI, feature extraction, Big Data Analytics, IoT, Human dynamics. He serves as a Guest Editor and reviewer for many Journals. He has the privilege to publish his work in reputed IEEE Magazines, IEEE Transactions/ACM Transactions/Elsevier Journals, IEEE INFOCOM, GLOBECOM, IEEE VTC, IEEE ICC, and IEEE LCN.
