Abstract: The D’IoT workshop 2020 will focus on technology advancements and applications of the decentralized technologies aka blockchain for IoT and big data. The submissions are expected in areas such as Theories and applications of Big Data Analytics for IoT, Decentralized applications for Healthcare informatics under IoT, privacy preserving visualization techniques for data from IoT devices, security and privacy in IoT using decentralized techniques, next generation decentralized applications for IoT, Decentralized IoT applications in Smart cities, Decentralized applications for FoG and Edge computing driven IoT, Visions on Decentralized Trustless Systems for IoT, and others. The workshop is concerned with inter-disciplinary and cross-domain studies spanning a variety of areas in computer science including enriched IoT data management on Blockchain, mobile computing, information extraction and retrieval, and security, as well as other disciplines such as management information science.

Organizers Biographies:

Sandeep Pirbhulal
Bio: Dr. Sandeep Pirbhulal received his Ph.D. degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems with the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. He is currently working as Postdoc Scholar at Department of Computer Science, University of Beira Interior, Covilha, Portugal. Dr. Pirbhulal has a vast experience of 7 years in Academia & Research. His current research focus on wireless body sensor networks (WSNs), privacy and security for WSNs, Bioinformatics, Greenness and Security Solutions, and Internet of Things. He has published more than 50 international journal articles including IEEE TBME, IEEE Sensor Journal, and IEEE JBHI among others, over 5 international conference proceeding papers, and 4 book chapters. He received Best Student Presentation Award with Cash Prize at 11th IEEE-EMBS International Summer School & Symposium.

Wei Xiang
Bio: Professor Wei Xiang is Founding Chair and Head of Discipline Electronic Systems and Internet of Things Engineering. He is an elected Fellow of the IET (FIET) and a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust). He was responsible for establishing Australia’s first Bachelor of Engineering major in Internet of Things Engineering, which was successfully acredited by Engineers Australia in November 2016. Due to his instrumental leadership in establishing Australia’s first accredited Internet of Things Engineering degree program, he was selected into Pearcy Foundation’s Hall of Fame in October 2018. He received the TNQ Innovation Award in 2016, and PearceyEntrepreneurship Award in 2017, and Engineers Australia Cairns Engineer of the Year in 2017. He is the Vice Chair of the IEEE Northern Australia Section. He was an Editor for IEEE Communications Letters (2015-2017), and is an Associate Editor for Springer’s Telecommunications Systems. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers including 3 academic books and 130 journal articles, six of which are ESI Top 1% Highly Cited papers. He has severed in a large number of international conferences in the capacity of General Co-Chair, TPC Co-Chair, Symposium Chair, etc. His research areas include the Internet of Things, machine learning for the Internet of Things, machine learning for computer vision, and big IoT data analytics.

Ali Hassan Sodhro
Bio: Dr. Ali Hassan Sodhro at present works as a Senior Researcher in IDA-Computer and Information Science Department, Linkoping University, Linkoping, Sweden and Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering Department at Sukkur IBA University, Sukkur, Sindh, Pakistan. Before that, Dr. Sodhro worked as Erasmus Mundu’s Postdoctoral Fellow under SMARTLINK Project at University Lumiere Lyon 2, France (Aug.2017 to Aug.2018). Dr. Sodhro completed his PhD from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) China in 2016. His main research domains are, Green and Battery-aware Biomedical Systems, Medical IoT, and Machine Learning for Healthcare Applications. Dr. Sodhro is the author of 45 Research Journal & International conference Proceeding Papers, 7 Book Chapters. Dr. Sodhro is recipient of several research awards, i.e., Third Best Paper Award with Cash Prize & Certificate at Guangzhou Annual Report Competition at Guangzhou, China, 2015, Best Graduate Award 2016 etc. He has more than 10 years of research and teaching experience.
