Abstract: Join us for an engaging workshop at VTC2025-Fall focused on Advancements and Innovations in Electric Vehicles, Vehicular Electronics, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. This event brings together leading experts, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to explore cutting-edge developments shaping the future of transportation. With rapid urbanization and increasing environmental concerns, sustainable mobility solutions are more critical than ever.
Participants will delve into the latest innovations in electric vehicle battery technologies, charging infrastructure, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, autonomous driving technologies, and IoT applications within intelligent transportation systems through technical paper presentations highlighting groundbreaking research, interactive panel discussions addressing current challenges, and poster sessions that foster networking and collaboration. The workshop will feature technical paper presentations highlighting groundbreaking research, interactive panel discussions addressing current challenges, and engaging poster sessions designed to foster networking and collaboration.
The goal of the workshop is to provide an interdisciplinary platform to exchange knowledge, discuss innovative approaches, and develop solutions for real-world transportation challenges. Topics will also address intelligent power electronics, renewable energy integration, fleet optimization strategies, cybersecurity, privacy issues, and relevant policy frameworks.
This event is ideal for researchers, engineers, policymakers, graduate students, and industry stakeholders eager to contribute to the advancement of electric and intelligent mobility solutions. Zahid Khan
Zahid Khan received the master’s degree in computer science from the University of Sophia Antipolis, Nice, France, in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, in 2019. He has completed a three-year postdoctoral research with the Robotics IoT Laboratory, Prince Sultan University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2019 to 2021, where he is currently a Senior Researcher and a Faculty Member (Ranked Assistant Professor). He has published more than 25 research articles in leading journals and conference proceedings, including IEEE Transactions and Flagship conferences. His current research interests include IoT-based intelligent transportation, cluster-based routing schemes for VANETs, link reliability, and connectivity of VANETs. Dr. Zahid performed many editorial services in various journals and conferences.
Donghong Cai
Donghong Cai received the B.S. degree from the School of Mathematics and Information Sciences, Shaoguan University, Shaoguan, China, in 2012, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from
Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, in 2015 and 2020, respectively. From October 2017 to October 2018, he was a Visiting Ph.D. Student with Lancaster University, Lancaster, U.K., and The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K. He served as a Guest Editor for a Special Issues in Physical Communication. He is currently a Lecturer with the College of Information Science and Technology and the College of Cyber Security, Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. He has published more than 60 papers in the world leading journals and conferences, including IEEE TWC, IEEE TCOM, IEEE TVT, IEEE Globecom, IEEE ICC and so on, which have received more than 800 Google citations. His current research interests include signal detection, security coding, the distributed Internet of Things, privacy preservation, machine learning, and non-orthogonal multiple access.
Wadii Boulila
Wadii Boulila received his B.Sc. degree (1st Class Honours with distinction) in computer science from the Aviation School of Borj El Amri in 2005, and his M.Sc. degree in computer science from the National School of Computer Science (ENSI) at the University of Manouba, Tunisia, in 2007. In 2012, he earned his Ph.D. in computer science jointly from ENSI and Télécom Bretagne, University of Rennes 1, France. He is currently a Professor of computer science at Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia, and a Senior Researcher with the RIOTU Laboratory at Prince Sultan University.
Additionally, he is a Senior Researcher with the RIADI Laboratory at the University of Manouba and was previously a Senior Research Fellow with the ITI Department at the University of Rennes 1,
France. Wadii has received several prestigious awards, including the Young Researcher in Computer Science Award in 2021 from Beit El-Hikma, the Best Researcher Award from the University of Manouba in 2021, the Most Cited Researcher Award at the University of Manouba in 2022, and the Research Excellence Award from Prince Sultan University. He has participated in numerous research and industrial projects, and his primary research interests include data science, computer vision, big data analytics, deep learning, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and uncertainty modeling. Wadii has served as chair, reviewer, and TPC member for many leading international conferences and journals. His work has gained global recognition, and he has been nominated as one of the top 2% of scientists in his field by Stanford University. Wadii Boulila is an IEEE Senior Member, ACM Member, AAAI Member, and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) in the U.K.
Pingzhi Fan
Pingzhi Fan received his MSc degree in Computer Science from the Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), PRC, in 1987, and Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Hull University, U.K.,
in 1994. He is currently a distinguished professor of SWJTU, director of the institute of mobile communications, and honorary dean of the Sino-UK SWJTU-Leeds Joint School. He is also a visiting/ guest professor of Leeds University (UK, 1997-), and Shanghai Jiaotong University (China, 1999-). He served as vice president for academic affairs of SWJTU between 2007-2014, dean of the graduate school (SWJTU) between 2007-2012, dean of the school of info sci & tech (SWJTU) between 1998-2008.
He is a recipient of the UK ORS Award (1992), the NSFC Outstanding Young Scientist Award (1998), IEEE VT Society Jack Neubauer Memorial Award (2018), IEEE SP Society SPL Best Paper
Award (2018), IEEE VT Society Best Magazine Paper Award (2023), and several IEEE conference best paper awards. He was the chief scientist of a national 973 research project (MoST, 2012-2016), IEEE VTS Distinguished Lecturer (2015.7-2019.6) and Distinguished Speaker (2019.7-2022.6-2025.6), and a fellow of IEEE, IET, CIE and CIC.
He served as a general chair or TPC chair of a number of international conferences including PIMRC’2023, ITW’2018, VTC’2016Spring, IWSDA’2022 & HMWC’2022, as well as the coming
VTC2025Fall (IEEE VTSoc), ISIT’2026 (IEEE ITSoc), ICC’2028 (IEEE ComSoc). and is the guest editor-in-chief, guest editor or editorial member of several international journals. He is the founding
chair of IEEE VTS BJ Chapter and IEEE ComSoc CD Chapter, founding chair of IEEE CD Section. He also served as a board member of IEEE Region 10 (Asia-Pacific), IET Council, and IET Asia-
Pacific Region.
He has published over 900 research works, including 8 books and edited books published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd, RSP, Springer, IEEE Press, Nova Science Publishers, etc., over 430 journal
papers published in various internationally renowned English journals (IEEE Trans on Com, IEEE Trans on WC, IEEE Trans on VT, IEEE Trans on IT, IEEE JSAC, IEEE Trans on SP, IEEE Trans on
PDS, IEEE Trans on Computer, IEEE CL/WCL, IEICE Trans on Fundamentals, IEE/IET Electronic Letters, IEE Proc on Communications etc.), as well as over 160 Chinese journal papers and over 330 referred international conference papers. He is also an inventor of 30+ granted Chinese and PCT patents. His works has been cited 28,540+ times, with h-index=66. (Google Scholar, Sept 2024).
