Abstract: Fueling by the seamless integration of wireless communications, computation, sensing and generative artificial intelligence (AI), AI model training and inference can now be conducted through cloud-edge-end collaboration over wireless networks, leveraging vast amounts of multi-modal data distributed at heterogeneous users. This gives rise to cloud-edge-end intelligence (CEEI), with applications including low-altitude networks, XR/VR and industrial IoT. Nevertheless, the massive data volumes to be transmitted pose significant challenges, calling for generative semantic communication tailored specifically for cloud-edge-end intelligent systems. In addition, mobile devices equipped with diverse sensors typically collect multi-modal data, exacerbating the complexities of generative semantic CEEI. Moreover, the imperfections, heterogeneity and dynamic nature of the networks necessitate the joint optimization of multi-modal data sensing, processing, and generative semantic communications to facilitate efficient, reliable, adaptive, and real-time distributed AI model training and inference via CEEI. This workshop aims to convene experts and researchers from academia and industry to tackle both fundamental and practical issues related to multi-modal and generative semantic communications towards CEEI.
The organizing committee cordially invites submissions of original, un-published, high-quality research papers that contribute to the development of multi-modal and generative semantic communications towards CEEI.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• New architectures of multi-modal and generative semantic
communications for CEEI
• Novel protocols of multi-modal and generative semantic
