W20: Workshop on Data-Oriented Transmission Techniques for Next Generation Wireless Networks

Co-Organizer: Mehmet C. Ilter, Tampere University, Finland
Co-Organizer: Mikko Valkama, Tampere University, Finland
Co-Organizer: Rui Dinis, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal

Abstract: Data-oriented transmission is a rapidly emerging topic in wireless communications, emphasizing the fulfillment of stringent data transmission requirements while addressing both reliability and latency performance. This makes it particularly significant for time-sensitive applications.

A pivotal metric in this domain is the delay outage rate, which has garnered considerable attention for its utility in evaluating system performance in real-time data transmission scenarios. This workshop will delve into the current literature leveraging this metric, along with new performance metrics inspired by its foundational concept.

The workshop will emphasize interdisciplinary and cross-domain studies, covering diverse areas that stand to benefit from the data-oriented approach. Participants will gain insights into the latest research developments and practical applications across various communication systems, fostering in-depth exploration and knowledge exchange.
