Abstract: The AI-RAN Workshop aims to bring together leading researchers, engineers, and industry practitioners to explore emerging advancements in Open, Programmable, and AI-Native Radio Access Networks (RANs). As wireless systems evolve toward 6G, RAN architectures are undergoing a paradigm shift from traditional, tightly coupled designs to open and disaggregated frameworks powered by standardized interfaces, software programmability, and pervasive AI/ML intelligence. This workshop provides a timely platform to address the key challenges and opportunities that arise in designing, optimizing, and deploying intelligent RAN systems across edge and cloud infrastructures.
The event will highlight innovations in AI-driven control, semantic- and intent-based network automation, programmable PHY/MAC, edge intelligence, and sustainable RAN design, as well as critical issues including multi-vendor interoperability, real-time orchestration, scalability, and security. A central focus is bridging theory and practice by showcasing real-world prototypes, open-source testbeds, and industrial implementations of AI-native RAN solutions.
The half-day workshop will feature three keynote talks, ten peer-reviewed paper presentations, a panel discussion, and potential invited contributions from top experts in wireless networks, distributed AI, and O-RAN ecosystems. Participants from academia, industry, and research labs will engage in interactive discussions, demonstrations, and networking activities aimed at accelerating innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
By fostering deep dialogue across theoretical foundations, system design, and practical deployment experiences, the workshop seeks to shape the future of intelligent RANs and advance the development of next-generation wireless networks.
