Abstract: Large Language Models (LLMs) and foundation models are becoming central enablers for next-generation intelligent systems. However, their deployment in dynamic, mobile, and vehicular environments is severely constrained by fundamental communication–computation tradeoffs, energy budgets, latency requirements, and the need for on-device or near-edge inference. As vehicles, drones, and mobile robots increasingly rely on LLM-driven perception, reasoning, and interaction, the question of where and how these models are executed—on-board, at the edge, or collaboratively across multiple nodes—becomes critical.
This workshop brings together researchers at the intersection of edge computing, mobile/vehicular networking, distributed systems, and LLM architecture design. It focuses on the fundamental
principles governing distributed LLM execution, model partitioning, semantic and compressed communication, context sharing under mobility, and adaptive resource allocation for LLM services in nonstationary environments.
Topics include but are not limited to: edge offloading for LLM inference, distributed decoding, quantization for mobile LLMs, cooperative perception using LLMs, vehicular semantic communication, online adaptation under mobility, and communication-efficient coordination of foundation models.
By bridging the communities of wireless communications, edge AI, distributed computing, and intelligent transportation, the workshop aims to establish a shared research agenda for enabling scalable, reliable, and efficient LLM-native intelligence across highly dynamic networks.
