W24 - OPERA-6G (Open and Programmable Research Infrastructures and Software for AI-Native 6G) - VTC2026-Spring Nice

W24 – OPERA-6G (Open and Programmable Research Infrastructures and Software for AI-Native 6G)

Abstract: This workshop aims to provide a focused forum for researchers and practitioners working on open, programmable, and reproducible research infrastructures for next-generation wireless systems. As 6G research increasingly relies on AI-native radio access networks and software-defined architectures, experimental validation on real-world platforms has become essential, yet challenging.

This workshop emphasizes experimental research based on open-source wireless software and testbed infrastructures, with particular attention to OpenAirInterface (OAI) and related open-source RAN and core network platforms. OPERA-6G encourages contributions that go beyond simulations, highlighting hands-on experimentation, reproducible methodologies, and practical insights gained from deploying, extending, and evaluating AI-native and open RAN solutions.

By bringing together the wireless research community, open-source developers, and infrastructure providers, OPERA-6G seeks to foster best practices, share lessons learned, and advance the state of experimental and reproducible research for 6G systems.
