IEEE VTS Special Session on Electrical Railway Systems
Co-chair: Zedong Zheng (Tsinghua University) – China
Co-chair: Zhongbei Tian (University of Liverpool) – UK
Call For Papers
This special session intends to be the seed of an Electrical Railway Workshop inside the VPPC Conference. The full day workshop would be organized by the IEEE Ad’hoc Committee for Electrical Railway Systems. The workshop will consist on a Keynote speaker, several special sessions (oral/poster) (depending on the number of papers received) and a panel session. The workshop will be focused in the technology and systems relating to high speed rail, urban transit, heavy haul freight, metro, fixed guideway transit, and electric railway systems, including the components and systems used in both automated and non-automated systems. The workshop will cover topics such as: communications, Train control, cybersecurity, simulation and modeling, traction power and distribution, Overhead Contact Systems and other feeding systems, power systems, system safety, reliability, environmental and system requirements.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to technologies and systems for high speed rail, urban transit, heavy haul freight, metro, fixed guideway transit, and electric railway systems such as:
- Simulation and modeling
- Power Systems (Traction Power and Distribution, Overhead Contact Systems, and Other Feeding Systems)
- Communications
- Train Control
- Cybersecurity
- System Safety
- Reliability
- Environmental and System Requirements
Applications of interest: This workshop will try to activate the networking within the railway community inside the VPPC conference in particular and also at IEEE VTS level.
